responds to Major MVA
June
20, 2006 -- At 07:08 am, Noonday Rescue 8, Engine
1 and Brush 6 were dispatched to a Major Head-On Collision
with possible pin-ins in both vehicles. The collision was
located at Hwy 155 South and CR 1100. Noonday Rescue 8, Engine
1 and Brush 6 responded. Noonday rescue 8 was first on scene.
The crew on rescue 8 quickly deployed extrication tools and
began extrication on the first vehicle. The door was popped
in less than 5 minutes from time of arrival. The patient was
placed in a C-Collar and moved from the vehicle onto a Backboard
and quickly placed into ambulance EMS 920. While this was
taking place, Engine 1 had deployed a second set of extrication
tools to the second vehicle with two occupants. Both patients
were quickly extricated and loaded into ambulance EMS 951.
All patients were transported to ETMC Tyler. Noonday units
remained on scene until approxiately 08:45 when the vehicles
were safely cleared out of the roadway. Rescue 8, Engine 1
and Brush 6 were returned to service.
Noonday
and other departments respond to 100+ acre woods fire
June 15, 2006
-- The Noonday Volunteer Fire Department responded first to
the blaze located between Three Creeks Estates at Farm-to-Market
Road 2868 and County Road 168 at 12:33 p.m. Engines from Tyler,
Whitehouse, Bullard, Chapel Hill, Troup, Dixie and the Flint-Gresham
department also responded.
The Texas Forest Service also
sent two bulldozers along with a helicopter from Greenville
to help in the effort.
While the fire was still burning
later Thursday evening, Seaton said it was contained.
"We're still trying to
control some hot spots, and the helicopter's still getting
around," Seaton said. "The 'dozers have been all
around, but there are some areas inside that'll burn for several
days."
Seaton said no cause was known
at the time, although they had eliminated some of the usual
suspects.
"We didn't
find any brush piles or burning trash," said Seaton,
"so we've ruled that out. We'll be back with a four-wheeler
tomorrow to look more."
Noonday
responds to woods fire
June 09, 2006
-- At 0347, Noonday Brush 6 and Engine 2 were dispatched to
a woods fire located behind 18165 Meandering Way in The Villages.
Upon arrival, two structures were in immediate danger. Brush
6 quickly knocked the fire threatening both residences. Flint-Gresham
Fire Department was called for mutual aid. Approximately 2
acres of woods were on fire. The fire was located in two separate
acres of woods requiring each department to take a section
of woods and knock the fires separately. The fires were under
control within 1/2 hour, however it would take and additional
2 hours to put out all hotspots to keep the fires from re-kindling.
At 0710, Noonday and Flint-Gresham units cleared the scene.

responds to Cardiac Arrest
June 08, 2006
-- At 0906, Noonday rescue 8 was dispatched to Noonday RV
Park on a possible cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, the ambulance
crew requested 1 firefighter ride in to assist with ventilation's.
After transport, EMS returned the firefighter back to the
station.

June 07, 2006 --
At 2011, Noonday Rescue 8 was dispatched to
Pine Cove Camp Boat Ramp on a Boating Accident. Noonday Fire
units were canceled by EMS pre-arrival. All units returned
to service.
Noonday
responds to Medical Emergency
June 06, 2006 --
At 2000 hours, Noonday Rescue 8 was dispatched
to Lake of the Woods resort on a "Hemorrhage". Upon
arrival, we were greeted by a man who had been stuck in the
hand by a catfish fin. The fin was still embedded in his hand
with some swelling. East Texas EMS arrived and transported
the patient to a nearby hospital to have the fin removed.
Noonday Rescue 8 returned to service.

responds to Traumatic Injury
June 06, 2006 --
At 1530 hours, Noonday Rescue 8 was dispatched
to Pine Cove Camp on a 6 year old girl who had fallen out
of a tree house. Noonday Fire was notified 10 minutes after
EMS about the call and was canceled while en route to the
call because of a delay in dispatch times. Noonday Rescue
8 returned to service.

June 06, 2006 --
At 0128 hours, Noonday Rescue 8 was dispatched
to assist EMS on a "Fall". The patient was not injured
and just needed lift assistance. Noonday Units assisted and
returned to service.

responds to a Structure Fire
June 05, 2006
-- At 1901, Noonday Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 8 and Brush
6 were dispatched to a reported Stove on fire inside of a
two story home located at 20858 Bay Shore Drive in the Hide-a-Way
Bay sub-division. Heavy smoke was showing upon arrival of
first due E-1. Immediate investigation showed that the homeowner
was able to suppress the fire with a fire extinguisher enough
to keep the fire contained. Noonday fire crews quickly knocked
the rest of the flames, checked the area with a thermal imager
and set up ventilation fans to clear the home. Noonday units
cleared and returned to service.
Self
storage facility takes 2 people hostage
June 03, 2006 --
At 2200 hours, Noonday Fire was dispatched
to hwy 155 self storage where it was reported that two people
were trapped inside the facility and could not exit. The manager
of the facility arrived on scene shortly and released the
prisoners.
NVFD Responds to Major
Motor Vehicle Collision with 1 Fatality and 2 Pin-Ins
June
03, 2006 -- At
1642 hours, Noonday fire was notified by EMS Dispatch of a
Major 2 Vehicle Collision located on State Hwy 155 South just
about 1.5 miles north of Brookshire Grocery Company. Noonday
Rescue 8 was first due on scene. An initial scene size up
showed a vehicle that had been T-Boned in the passenger side
by a PT Cruiser in a 70mph speed zone. It appears that the
Pontiac turned left into oncoming traffic when struck. The
vehicle that had been struck in the passenger side had 4 occupants.
One of the occupants had unfortunately succumbed to her injuries
upon arrival. Two were critically injured and one sustained
injuries that were not life threatening. Both passengers in
the back seat were pinned in the vehicle. Noonday rescue 8
Deployed Extrication tools and began extrication while the
other patients were being immobilized and stabilized for transport.
Two ETMC Helicopters and Three ETMC Ambulances were dispatched
to the scene. Noonday Engine 1, Noonday Brush 6 and Bullard
Fire Department were also on scene. All units cleared the
scene and were back in service at 1825. The accident is still
under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

responds to Traumatic Injury
June 03, 2006
-- At 1335 hours, Noonday Fire was dispatched to assist EMS
on a Traumatic Injury involving an elderly man who had fallen
of his porch and sustained injury to his leg. This patient
was transported by ambulance to East Texas Medical Center
in Tyler.
